If you’ve been lucky enough to receive an invite to create a Google Wave account you may be a bit lost when it comes to actually using Google Wave. The application holds a lot of functionality and introduces some new concepts when it comes to messaging and online communication. Google’s help info is ok, but isn’t really written from in a form conducive to easily introducing a new user to Wave.
That’s where The Complete Guide to Google Wave comes in. It’s a comprehensive, feature-by-feature walkthrough of all Google Wave has to offer. The Guide is authored by Gina Trapani with Adam Pash, both of whom you may know from LifeHacker. It’s being released under a Creative Commons, Attribution-Share Alike United States License and you can read it online in its current preview form for free. They’re planning on releasing the preview edition in PDF form for purchase in November(2009) and the first edition in print or PDF in January(2010).

What I like about this guide, is that its going to be updated consistently as Google Wave grows and adds new functionality and that it’s been written as a walkthrough. That’s a key feature as it will introduce you step-by-step to the features Wave offers in an organized way from getting started to using any of the advanced features. The Guide positions itself to be a lasting reference instead of a one-time read.
Check it out, and if you’re not a Google Wave user yet, I have several invites still available. Add a comment or send us a message and the first few people to contact us will have invites sent their way!
